Single Release: Too Much
"Am I asking too much?" asks front woman Paige Renée Berry as Half Dream comes roaring out the gate in this powerful anthem. "Too Much" teases the next release from the Austin, TX indie rock band, Half Dream, and signals a departure both sonically and energetically. Exploring what it means to exist as a woman in a world of excess while simultaneously being asked to remain small, Berry quite literally screams into the void with declarations like "I won't make the choice to choose you or lose my voice." While staying true to the lyricism and musical talent on display in their debut EP Monster of Needing, this track shatters any notion of decorum found in their freshman release. We can be sure that if Half Dream entered the scene as formidable, this next chapter will find them unstoppable.
BIO
Half Dream is a rock n’ roll band based in Austin, TX and is comprised of Paige Renée Berry (guitar, vocals), Jake Ames (lead guitar), Bryan Dalle Molle (drums) and Vanessa Jollay (bass). Formed in 2018, Half Dream began with the name and songs of Paige Renée Berry and changed their moniker to reflect the ethereal and collaborative nature of the sound. Paige Berry’s songwriting explores identity, overcoming trauma, & moving past fear. Floating melodies find punch in driving hooks that highlight vocal subtleties, landing somewhere between dream and tenuous reality. These songs were born from a love of storytelling, radical empathy, and unfiltered expression from artists like Joni Mitchell, Simon and Garfunkel, and Helen Reddy. Half Dream finds its home with fans of Angel Olsen, Big Thief, Wye Oak, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus. The band’s debut album was self-released October 13 2020 with an east coast tour to follow in 2022.
